a month agoThis is a lovely little place in the old town, the guy running the place was very kind. Loukoumades cooked to order with your choice of topping. Perfect little treat when shared ;)

7 months agoSeeing the rest of the reviews I felt the need to write one of my own, as I feel that people's standards are very low when it comes to loukoumades. They probably are the best of the city BUT that's only to show how bad the other places are (reviews are due). First of, they were fried in low temperature oil resulting in them being very soft instead of having a crunchy exterior. Also that led to absorbing way more oil than they should have. Another side effect was that they were not thoroughly cooked, leading to a slightly bitter aftertaste. Of course if you add tons of chocolate you'll not notice, that's why this review is being written after trying the plain ones with honey and cinnamon. Which brings me to the quality of the honey. I am not sure of the brand but it was definitely one of the lower end. It had a more sugary taste rather what quality honey tastes like. Furthermore the cinnamon was almost non existent. Unfortunately I had left the shop before asking for extra. And that's for the price of 5 euros, way more expensive than the competition (and I've tried a lot of places). This results were produced from eating the loukoumades hot, the same minute they were made in order to be as accurate as possible.
